I have spent 24 years serving my country in the MS Army National Guard, and retired as MSG Montoya Baylis, Combat Veteran. I breastfed both my children while serving and breastfed my daughter a little over 46 months. My son was breastfed for 18 months, and it would've been longer had it not been for me having to work three hours from home for the military. I became a Lactation Education Counselor back in 2021, trained as a Birthing Doula in April of 2022, was certified as a Military Lactation Counselor in November of 2022, and earned my Certified Lactation Counselor credentials in 2023. Completing all these certifications has shown me that this professional work transcends the birthing process. It involves mentoring, counseling, educating, and just being the voice of MOTIVATION. Through our birthing plans, parents get to experience all of the above points along with, if they choose to, the uplifting given for breastfeeding and lactation support!!!

Our owner's breastfeeding story excerpts are featured in the latest edition of The La Leche League International, The Art of Breastfeeding, while the entire story can be found on the La Leche League International website.
